Masala Pappadum

Ingredients: Recipe for 1 papad or pappdum, you need to repeat this for all the papads or pappadums.
  • 1 packet Plain on Cumin Papad
  • ¼ Cup Oil to brush
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Finely chopped tomatoes (optional)
  • Chat masala (optional)
Method:
  1. In a flat pan drizzle 2 tsp. oil.
  2. Put the papad in it & keep swirling it with the help of a tissue paper or spatula, till it gets golden brown & crisp from the bottom.
  3. Flip it over. Then gently pat it down on the pan to get some color on the other side as well.
  4. If you need more oil, go ahead and add a few drops.
  5. On the side facing up, add some of the chopped tomato and onion. Sprinkle some of the chopped coriander, salt and black pepper.
  6. Cook for another 1-2 mins.
  7. Remove & serve
This and chana dry are my all time favorite starters whenever we go to a restaurant in India, even thinking about it makes my mouth water :)
