As much as I love to cook curry at home, getting a take away on a busy weekday or a lazy weekend has its own pleasure. There are few favorite restaurants that we have identified after trying and testing quite a few ones. I will post reviews of the ones we like and we think would make our readers happy when the visit :)
3. Mirch Masala

Now I don’t have good pictures of the food here, the reason
being the food is gone by the time it arrives. I guess that’s why its called
fast food. Mirch Masala is a hidden treasure near Gabba stadium. It’s the best
place to spend an evening when you know you have to do your groceries, but also
need to grab a quick but BIG bite. Yes the food is heavy and spicy and YUMMY.
Its Indian Chat or Street food. Its India fast food, served authentically on
road side carts, like the hot dog stands in Manhattan. You are served the
dishes in plastic use and throw containers or more traditionally containers
made out of large banana leaves.
Do try the Pav bhaji, Masala pav. Papdi chat, Samosa chat,
Vada Pav. Make sure you pair all this food with my favourite soft drink
ThumsUp. It is a match made in food heaven. End with a $2 beetle nut digestive
also known as "meetha pan". It tastes like Liquorice but much better.
If you are adventurous enough to experiment with your palette then do give
Mirch Masala a try.
Little Greek Tavern is also good for people who like haloumi, greek salads and chicken kebabs. With a live band playing the most sexy version of Didi, Didi, a lovley glass of shiraz and a cool breeze makes it a perfect date night at Little Greek Tavern..Do give it a try!

1. JK RESTAURANT
So here goes...
Now you all know how much we love tandoor, and its a delight to find authentic tandoori food in a country other than India. Recently discovered a lovely Dhaba style restaurant called JK restaurant. A must visit for all Brssieiets and Curry Lovers. I had to do a post to introduce this restaurant so here it is .
Try the Goan fish curry, or the Tandoori Chicken or for vegetarians try the Paneer dishes. I was not impressed by the Hara bhara kabba, but the chilli chicken and paneer kadhai make up for that. The calamari rings are a must try, but I strongly recommend the, khaman dhokla that just melts in your mouth.
Each dish stands our on its own, combine with Garlic Naan, or Onion Kulcha and you get the perfect combination of flavors. Dip the bread into the curry, bite into the sliced onions, and eat to your hearts content.
Do not miss the pappudums and sliced onion salad with mint raita, which go very well with the food as accompaniments.
A glass of Rose or Red wine goes really well with Indian food, and of course the all time favorite Aussie drink Beer, is made for gulping down hot spicy curry on a lovely evening.
JK also has outside seating, very cosy and comfortable. The staff are simply amazing, really simple, nice and warm people.
Having said that I do get disappointed at times with redcurrants that have a low cleanliness standard, but JK serves you food on hot plates straight out of the dishwasher, spot less glasses and cutlery.
Hope you try it out and my little post for my favorite restaurant inspires you to enjoy a great evening with your close friends and family...believe me you will be transported to India without the jet lag.
