Ingredients:
- 3 Cups Broccoli florets
- 11/2 tbsp. Olive oil
- 1/2 tbsp. Mustard seeds
- 2 tsp. Chili powder (adjust depending on how spicy you want it)
- 1 tsp. Turmeric powder
- 4 Cloves of garlic chopped or minced
- 3 tsp. Coriander powder
- 3 tsp. Cumin powder
- 1/2 tbsp. Garam masala
- 5 tbsp. Gram flour or Besan
- Salt to taste
- Water for cooking
- Cut and wash the broccoli.
- In a large pan add oil. When hot add the mustard seeds and let them crackle.
- Next add the turmeric & chilli powder. Next add the chopped garlic. Cook for 2 minutes or until the garlic becomes slightly golden.
- Mix and add the florets. Spice up the florets with coriander, cumin and garam masala powder.
- Give everything a good mix. Cover and cook for 5 mins or until the florets cook down. Make sure they are not wilted or mushed down.
- Now open the lid and stir the mixture. Add some salt to taste & then add the gram flour. Sprinkle some water to help with the cooking. Use about 2-3 tbsp.
- Mix well and cook on a low heat for 2 mins or until the florets start to become crispy.
- If you like them tender remove from heat after 2 mins and keep them covered. I like them crispy so I let them cook for longer stirring occasionally for 5 more mins.
