Ingredients:
To make the Dough:
- 1½ Cup Plain flour or Maida
- 2 tsp.Carom seeds or Ajwain
- Salt to taste
- 2 tbsp. Hot ghee or melted butter
- Water to knead
- 3 medium sized boiled potatoes
- ½ Cup Boiled green peas (optional)
- ½ tsp. Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp. Garam Masala powder
- 1tsp Coriander powder
- 1tsp. Chat masala
- 1 tsp.Cumin seeds
- Salt to taste
- Oil to fry and a few tsp. for making the mixture (You can also bake these at 150 degree C for 10 -15 mins or until golden brown)
- First mix all the ingredients for the dough in a large bowl.
- Knead by adding some water to form a hard dough.Keep it aside.
- Next to make the filling or stuffing. Heat 2 tsp. oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds. Let them splutter. Then add the boiled and roughly mashed potatoes and peas.
- Now add the dry spices, salt and give it a mix. Let this mixture cool.
- Now get on to making the samosa pockets.
- Take the dough and roll it out to a large circle or roti.
- Cut it into half (semi circle). Make a pocket by folding together two sides of the semi circle.
- Fill with 2 tbsp of the stuffing and seal the sides using little water.
- Deep fry in oil or place them on a baking sheet and bake in a pre-heated oven at 150o C or until crisp and golden brown.
